Review- Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout

Obsidian (Lux, #1)
Title: Obsidian
(Lux #1)

Author: Jennifer L Armentrout

Summary:

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

Review:
So, I actually read this book for the first time a long while ago after reading the prequel short story, Shadows. I just never actually wrote a review for it… maybe because I wasn’t exactly sure what to say.

I never thought I would like a book about aliens. I mean… aliens! C’mon!

So Im pretty sure that everyone knows about this book, but in case you don’t, let me tell you about it. The story is about teenager named Katy, who, among other things, is a book blogger (Freakin most awesome charcter so far!!) But anyways, she moves to this town, out in the middle of nowhere, next to a pair of twins, one girl and one boy.

But these twins aren’t your ordinary twins. They have secrets. Secrets that are dangerous.

Dee, the sister, is pretty awesome. She is loyal and dependable, and FUN. And Daemon… holy hell. Daemon is the epitome of badass, steamy male! He is broody and pensive, but for a good reason. His first priority is to his sister, and to keep her safe. He is willing to do anything in order to do the right thing! Not to mention, he is hot, and exciting and... well just perfect in every way (In that he really is a good guy, but isnt actually perfect, he has flaws, and is rude sometimes... but its only for the right reasons).

Anyways… there are bad guys who come. A big fight, yada yada…

But really, the best art is the steamy on-ish, but never really on at all, romance!

I re-read this book because #1- I wanted it fresh in my mind to review and #2- I’m gonna finally buy Onyx!

Rating- 5 Stars. There is nothing at all wrong with this book!

  1. I bought this a while back when it seemed like I was the only person who didn't own a copy. Sadly, it's still sitting unread on my shelf. After reading your review, I've really got to make this a priority read!
