Review: Pushing The Limits

Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1)

Title: Pushing the Limits
Author: Katie McGarry

Summary:
No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.

Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.

Review:
So, FINALLY I read this book! And FINALLY I know what all the hype is about!
HOLY FREAKIN COW, people! It was such a good book.

The story is about 2 seniors in high school, both with some serious baggage. Echo went from miss popular who has it all, to the freak who went missing and doesn’t remember where she was or what happened, only that she woke up with scars all over her arms. Really all she wants to do is get back to normal, and remember what happened to her the day she got the scars.

Noah is a stoner, bad boy on the surface, but underneath he is a boy who lost his parents to a fire and is being shuffled around from one bad foster home to the next. All he wants to do is be able to take care of his brothers (who are also in foster care) and put his family back together.
But that’s just the beginning. They have to work together in order to meet their own goals, and in the process fall in love!

This story was hard to read at times. For anyone who has any kind of family issue (or deals with bipolar disorder or has lost loved ones) this will be hard to read. The emotions come through so true and real, that you can fully feel what the characters felt.

The romance was great. It built from nothing to something phenomenal. They had issues they had to work through, just like real people.

Overall, the story is great… and though great doesn’t really cover it, im kinda at a loss for words. I couldn’t find not ONE thing wrong with it!!
