I am SO glad I finally read this series! The entire series
was great, and this book just was the icing on the cake!
The Iron Knight is told, not in Meghans POV like the first 3
books, but in Ash’s POV. You follow him as he goes on this crazy journey to try
and find a way to become mortal and gain a soul so that he can stay with Meghan
in the Iron Realm- a place most fey cannot go.
He, along with Puck and Grimalkin (and even the Big Bad Wolf
and a surprise guest-someone we thought was dead) try to find a way to the end
of the world where he will have to face some terrifying challenges to earn a
soul. On the way, they encounter many strange and frightening fey that attempt
to stop them.
The story had everything. A moral about what it means to be
human- weakness, conscience, mortality, and how even a human (someone with no
fey powers) can overcome everything with the right amount of heart and soul.
There was non stop action.
Even the romance was there. Though I will say I was
surprised Kagawa tried to incorporate a triangle, even when we all know how
much Ash loves Meghan. That being said, at first I hated how the story was
going and was disappointed with the entry of this girl until I realized I really liked knowing the history
of her and her story. (sorry I cant say much without spoiling it. )
I also loved that we got more of Ash’s history when he was
earning his conscience back, as he had to relive every mistake and wrong doing
he ever did.
I loved everything about this book. I can find NO downside.
I absolutely loved The Iron King, but I hated The Iron Queen. I might read the Iron Knight just for Ash.
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I finally read the first book and while it was a little disappointing (I don't really like Meghan) I do want to read the rest of the series.
