Top Interview Questions.

So, since I recently had an interview (TODAY) I had been looking up some questions that I may be asked, and found a lot of useful info to help me prepare. I thought I would post some of what I learned, even though this will be a random post, not about writing or getting published at all. Everyone has to interview at some point in time --before you get rich and famous when your book gets publish and you no longer have to have a job  ;)
1. Tell me about yourself:
This is one of the most common questions to ask in interviews. And its often the first one asked. You should prepare a short statement about who you are and why you would be the best fit for this position. Make sure not to list your whole life events, and a lot of not important information about your personal life.

2. Why did you leave your last job?You should stay positive regardless of the circumstances of your last job. Never talk about about your previous managers, the previous companies you worked for or any co-workers, It will only make you look bad. You should probably say something about the future, or trying to grow.
3. What do co-workers say about you? This is another one that is often asked, sometimes “co-workers” or “friends” or even “previous managers”  but the point of the question is to explain how others perceive you.
4. What do you know about this organization?Hopefully, before going into an interview, you have done some research on the company you are applying with.
5. Do you know anyone who works for us?
This is giving you the opportunity to show if you have someone who works there already as a reference. But be honest. And make sure you are aware of the policy on relatives working for the organization.
6. Have you ever been asked to leave a position? If you have not, say no. But if you have, you must be honest. However you want to keep the answer short and make sure you don’t say anything negative about the people or organization involved.
7. Explain how you would be an asset to this organization
This is a great question for the interviewee. Be ready for it though, make sure you list all your best points as they relate to the job you are applying for.
8. What is your greatest strength?
You can basically say anything here. List only one though, and you can even give an example of how or why this is your greatest strength.
9. Tell me about a problem you had with a supervisor
Watch out for this question. They are testing you to see if you will speak negatively about your old manager. Just stay positive, and explain that you have never really had any issues with managers in the past.
10. Tell me about your ability to work under pressure.
This is a good time to give an example of when you were I a lot of pressure and how you handles it, make sure to explain how you still were successful, despite the pressure.
11. Do you have any questions for me?This is usually they last question right before the interview is over. Make sure you always have some questions prepared.

That being said, I am a hypocrite!! I did NOT have this last question prepared! And unfortunately I did not ask a question back!!  Wish me luck, though. Thanks

  1. Definitely always ask at least a couple of questions. As a go to I usually ask, "What's a day in the life like?" Also things like, "What have people in this position in the past done to be successful?"

Don't forget the counterpoint to greatest strength: greatest weakness. I ALWAYS get asked this. The trick is to say something that's secretly a strength. You don't want to be as obvious as, "I care too much" or "I work too hard." But something like "I am too rigid" you slowly make into showing how super-organized you are. And always say you are working on becoming less rigid or whatever.

Good post. (P.S. I think there was a bad html in #1? It repeated part of your introduction.)
